The Programmer-Analyst (Level I) will assist in the designing and testing of program logic, coding programs, program documentation and preparation of programs for computer operations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESinclude the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Assist in the coding, testing, debugging, documents and installs modified and new programs.
Monitors production programs for expected performance and responds to errors and emergency problems as directed by supervisor.
Works within specifications provided to meet programming assignment goals and objectives in a timely and accurate manner.
Takes action to correct problems encountered during systems operations within authority level granted by the department manager.
Maintains integrity of program logic and coding, and establishes required checks and balances for operational controls.
Maintains up-to-date knowledge of computer operating procedures and operating standards.
Assists in studying and analyzing data processing functions, methods and procedures, and makes recommendations concerning the feasibility of revising existing programs or adapting new applications to data processing operations that will more effectively use MIS resources.
Produces procedural documentation as required.
Performs duties with technical supervision.
Promote and exhibit professionalism at all times.
Notify department management of any seminars, training, or educational requirements that may be needed.
Insure that the customer's and CSA's best interest are represented in the development of new systems, enhancement of existing systems, and correction of problems.
Notify department management of any problems not resolved in a satisfactory manner by any CSA personnel.
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Minimum of an Associate's degree (A. A.) or Bachelor's degree (B.A.) or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledgeable in all aspects of design and analysis, programming and logical systems development. Must have experience programming computer systems.
Must have demonstrated the aptitudes and expertise normally associated with this position and must possess knowledge of software currently in use.
Should have 0 - 2 years’ experience in data processing functions.
Must possess knowledge of business functions and accounting principles. Good mathematics skills are essential.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
